About this event

Three readings and conversations give space to Jewish voices in contemporary German-language literature. Iryna Fingerova, a doctor and writer born in Odessa, presents her novel “Zugwind” (Draught): a young Ukrainian GP builds an everyday life in Germany and finds comfort in small rituals while war grinds on at home. Dana von Suffrin reads from “Toxibaby,” a book that examines – with sharp observation and wit – the longing for a love that promises rescue, insight and redemption all at once. Dana Vowinckel then introduces “Anton und Alma,” the portrait of a relationship that tries to withstand the fractures of the world and is tested severely by the fallout of October 7. The publicist Laura Cazés moderates the evening, talking with the authors about their work and the questions that drive them. The three one-hour blocks can be booked individually or as a combined ticket; the museum hall provides a quiet, focused setting for the readings.
