About this event
Sabbina Faber's production works with simple, poetic means: home-made costumes and a staging that leaves plenty of room for children's imagination. The Scarecrow (played by Sabrina Faber herself) stumbles across the stage with bursting energy, the Tin Man (Christoph Géard Stein) touches with quiet humanity, and the cowardly Lion (Carola Moritz) earns roaring applause by the end. Leonard Schärf plays the Wizard as a twinkling charlatan who makes himself big with effects. The performance actively invites the young audience to call out, laugh, and help – for instance when the Tin Man's oil can needs to be found – turning quiet watchers into fellow travellers on Dorothy's journey. Aimed at children from about 5 and their families, the show wraps timeless lessons about courage, heart, and brains in a warm, music-filled adventure that never talks down to its audience.
