About this event
The Nathan Ott Quartet honours John Coltrane’s centenary with a fresh, energetic voyage through his later music. Drummer Nathan Ott, alongside Christof Lauer (tenor & soprano sax), Camila Nebbia (tenor sax) and Jonas Westergaard (double bass), channels the spiritual urgency and liberated rhythmic structures of Coltrane’s final years into tightly knit, collectively improvised textures. The set moves seamlessly between written themes and open dialogue, building atmospheric density without ever losing a sense of groove. Their direct‑to‑tape album Continuum was added to the quarterly best‑list of the German Record Critics’ Award in 2025.
