About this event
The 1st International Sportfilm Festival FFM brings around 50 sports films to Frankfurt from 25–29 September 2025. Screenings take place at Massif E (the former E-Kinos on the Zeil), with selected films on the Gaia Rooftop and after-parties at Pik Dame. The festival opens with the Eintracht Frankfurt documentary In diesem Jahr – der Film, followed by five days of documentaries, premieres, and short-film blocks covering football, triathlon, cycling, combat sports, surfing, and more. Highlights include premieres such as Sport Holz-Fäller, Der Choreograf, Hard Work, and Nascar Movie; a cycling talk with John Degenkolb; the live sports podcast Der ultimative Live Sport-Podcast; and the award ceremony with seated dinner on Sunday evening. The festival closes on Monday with free screenings of all winning films and a running meet-up with the Mainova Frankfurt Marathon Monday group. Admission is free for all screenings and events. Optional Solidarity Day Tickets (€20/day) and guarantee prioritized entry on that day. Awards: Best Sports Film, Best Actress, Best Actor, Social Engagement Award, Best Fan Film, Lifetime Achievement, Comeback of the Year, Absolute Legend. Jury: Kathrin Klaus (Olympian), Florian Nass (sports presenter), Henni Nachtsheim (musician & comedian), Maren Hopf (Lidl Deutschland Tour).
