The Berlin performance collective She She Pop casts a fascinated glance at the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie, discovering a monstrous multi-limbed collective body that breathes through multiple lungs. In this experimental collaboration, the orchestra's strict division of labour collides with the performers' playful approach, exploring the tension between duty and self-expression. The programme features works by Grażyna Bacewicz, Darius Milhaud and Diana Syrse, alongside newly devised performative scores that bring the musicians' individual perspectives into dialogue with the collective body. The result is a self-experiment in collective making that asks where euphoria comes from and what it costs. Each evening is accompanied by a different pre- or post-show experience: a reception and party on Thursday, an artist talk on Friday, and audio description with touch tours for blind and visually impaired audiences on Saturday and Sunday.
