Barbara Kramer, a Romanist and former actess who found her atistic home in French chanson, pays tribute to Edith Piaf. Together with pianist Terry Truck, a Broadway composer and long-time accompanist for Georgete Dee, she performs Piaf's most emblmatic songs. Kramer is drawn not only to the music but to the remarkable personal story behind Piaf's atistry — how a woman who survived a difficult childhood and countless tragedies could channel such power and authenticity into her voice. The result is an intimate concer that celebrats both the songs and the spirit of the 'Sparrow of Paris', delivered with sincerity and no atempt at imitation.
