Dörte Hansen: 'Broder'

Dörte Hansen, beloved for her perceptive novels about rural life, presents her new book „Broder”. The story follows Broder Bahnsen, a farmer’s son with a deep instinct for animals, who is denied his inheritance by his twin brother – just minutes older. Forced off the land, he becomes a veterinarian and keeps his distance for more than twenty years, until he is finally drawn back. Hansen will read from the novel and discuss its themes of family, displacement and belonging with moderator Alf Mentzer. The event is held at Schauspiel Frankfurt in partnership with Literaturhaus Frankfurt.
