On this Saturday evening, the Naxoshalle becomes a relaxed literary salon dedicated to the guest of honour at the Frankfurt Book Fair: the Czech Republic. Three Czech authors – Elsa Aids, whose work often probes personal and social fault lines, novelist and translator Petr Šesták, and Klára Wang Tylová – present their latest books, reading in German, English or Czech. Adrian Kasnitz, Jonas Linnebank, Jennifer de Negri and Susa Wolfrum from the Parasitenpresse publishing collective host and translate, keeping the conversation flowing across languages. In between, Frankfurt musician Tomek Witiak provides acoustic interludes. With a beer in hand you can listen to contemporary Central European literature in its original sound and in translation, making this a laid-back meeting point for anyone curious about fresh voices from the region.
