A Brilliant Idea

About this event

This is a quick-fire door-slamming farce by Sébastien Castro in which one actor plays three doubles at once, aided by clever staging that makes the audience do a double-take. The plot follows Arnaud's supposedly foolproof plan to use a random lookalike of a love rival to put his partner off a potential affair – a plan that inevitably collides with originals, doubles, and a twin brother to produce maximum chaos. A four-strong cast, featuring Martin Geisen, Judith Specmaier and Barbara Seeliger, tackles six roles and delivers absurd situations, mistaken identities and slapstick at a breathless pace. Carolne Stollz's production relies on precise timing and visual trickery, so expect to question your eyes more than once. The foyer bar pours a decent cocktail before the show, setting the light-toned mood for an evening that works well with friends, as a couple, or solo if you fancy intelligent entertainment with a French comic touch.
